THE SEILER KÄSEREI
As an independent and locally anchored traditional company, we at Seiler Käserei AG have been producing cheese specialities for almost 100 years, in which the culinary heritage of Central Switzerland and the Alpine region lives on. We use only natural raw materials from the region for our cheeses. Some cheeses are also available in organic quality, produced according to the guidelines of Bio Suisse, the strictest organic regulations worldwide. Every day, our team processes up to 80,000 kg of fresh milk, which comes from farms with controlled agriculture directly from the slopes and valleys of the surrounding area.
In the gigantic cave cellar below the Giswilerstock, a former military tunnel, up to 90,000 cheese wheels ripen to perfection. The old caverns provide ideal conditions for the ripening process, which lasts up to twelve months. This is how our cheese specialities develop their typical taste and incomparable quality. 8 SWISS CHEESE AWARDS
We always strive to produce cheese of the highest quality and never compromise. In recent years, we have won seven Swiss Cheese Awards, which confirms our attitude of consistently paying attention to quality.
In the last few years, we have been able to accept further prizes. In 2021, we were awarded the Golden Sun as Supplier of the Year by Migros Lucerne. The year before, we were one of six finalists for the Prix SVC Central Switzerland. And in the canton of Obwalden, we received the SME Recognition Award in 2016.
